Comfort Food

I stumbled across this blog a few months ago and it has very quickly become my new favorite chow site. The lakefront precipitation has covered this area once again with the white stuff, and what better to hunker down with for dinner than a bowl of broccoli soup? Especially when I get to use my new immersion blender and clean out the fridge. Since I needed to get rid of it, I used feta and shredded parmesan instead of cheddar, and sprinkled the top with a bit of mozzarella (what can I say, there are always cheeses lurking around my fridge!). I certainly plan on making those tasty looking mustard croutons at some point in the future, but I have some seasoned ones courtesy of Danny Wegmans also needing to be used up and as that was the theme of the evening ...
