Another Jazz Fest Has Come and Gone

With the Jazz Fest came old traditions (Abbott's) and new (tailgating) and of course the lines and crowds.  Last year was the first time I took off the whole week for the festival and I learned that it's the way to go.  This year the staycation was doubly enjoyable with my old roommate in town to play lazydays together.

Favorite acts included new discoveries Monophonics, Kneebody, Mederic Collignon and The Abney Effect while the returning Catherine Russell and Trombone Shorty did not disappoint and will always draw my attention. Honorable mentions go to Big Sam's Funky Nation, Gypsophilia and Big James and the Playboys for fun[ky] and rocking times. 

The end is always bittersweet -am always a bit worn out, yet sad to see the fun times come to a close; but, as they say, until next year.
